CPR, or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, is an emergency lifesaving procedure performed when the heart stops beating. Immediate CPR can double or even triple the chances of survival after cardiac arrest.
Learning CPR is valuable for everyone, as it teaches essential lifesaving skills. However, certain professions do require CPR training. These include doctors, nurses, healthcare providers, police officers, sheriffs, firefighters, rescue personnel, emergency responders, dentists, dental assistants, teachers, coaches, lifeguards, daycare staff, and babysitters. Kairos currently offers First Aid and Heart Savers CPR, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
CPR is highly recommended by the American Heart Association for anyone who is able. For general knowledge, Heart Savers CPR and First Aid is recommended. BLS and ACLS are geared toward specialized professions. The right course for you will depend on your professional role and the requirements of your employer.
